Motion Controls Engineer

Job Description

This position will be responsible for advancing the state of the art of motion control on the FPD test tools. This will include maintaining prior vintage systems, upgrades to them, and defining new methods and solutions that meet the need of the project requirements. This will include all motion controller subsystems, amplifiers, communication links, motors, and feedback systems. There will be an element of shared responsibility for AIO (Analog Input/Output) / DIO (Digital Input / Output). This role will report into the head of Systems Engineering for the array test division.

Job Responsibilities

Skill Needs: • Good communicator, both written and oral • Understands modern motion control, actuation, and manipulation technologies • Good debug and diagnosis skills • Proven experience and capability for complex systems modeling, simulation, execution, diagnosis, and evolution • Availability to travel to Asia for occasional support or deployment needs (10-12% Travel) Education and Experience: • Masters in Robotics or related discipline is required, PhD is preferred • 5-10 years of professional experience with motion control preferred
