Reed Cagle started his career in 1986 when he joined Kinlaw Oil Corporation as an associate. In 1996, he left to help start a small independent energy firm in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Cagle started Heartland Energy, Inc. In 1997, which later became HEI. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of HEI. He hired operators, drilling contractors, geophysicists, engineers, service companies, and other professionals in the energy industry based on what his joint venture partners told him to do.
